Hefonix Signs 240° Ship Handling Simulator Project with Seacon Group

2026-06-08

On May 29, 2026, Hefonix (Xiamen Hefeng Interactive Technology Co., Ltd.) officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Intercontinental Shipping Group Holdings Limited in Qingdao for the development and deployment of a new-generation 240-degree large-scale ship simulator system. This milestone marks a significant advancement in high-end maritime training technology and digital simulation solutions.

Intercontinental Shipping Group, headquartered in Qingdao, is one of China’s leading maritime enterprises. The company was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Main Board in 2023 and earned the reputation of “the first ship management company listed in Hong Kong.” It was also ranked among the Top 10 Global Ship Management Companies by Lloyd’s List for two consecutive years (2023–2024), becoming the first Chinese enterprise to achieve this recognition. Today, it ranks first in China and ninth globally in ship management scale. The decision to adopt Hefonix’s advanced ship simulator technology reflects strong confidence in the company’s engineering capability and innovation strength.

Advancing Maritime Training with Multi-System Simulation Integration

Following the signing ceremony in Qingdao, the Hefonix engineering team immediately initiated project execution planning. On June 3, 2026, the project team conducted an on-site survey at the construction location in Lingang, Shanghai, focusing on infrastructure conditions, system installation environment, and commissioning requirements.

The project centers around a high-end ship simulator platform designed for large vessel maneuvering training. The system integrates a highly immersive Ship Navigation simulator environment, enabling realistic navigation scenarios, port operations, and complex maritime conditions. This ensures that trainees experience accurate vessel response behavior under different operational states.

In addition to navigation training, the system also incorporates a high-precision marine engine simulator, allowing trainees to understand propulsion systems, engine response behavior, and onboard mechanical operations. The integration of marine engine simulator functionality ensures that bridge officers and engineering crews can train within a unified simulation environment, improving coordination and operational efficiency.

Multi-Dimensional Simulation Ecosystem: From Bridge to Engine Room

The new project represents a comprehensive upgrade in Hefonix’s simulation ecosystem. The ship simulator platform not only focuses on navigation control but also integrates system-level coordination between bridge and engine room operations. This includes real-time data interaction between the Ship Navigation simulator and marine engine simulator, enabling fully synchronized training scenarios.

To further expand training coverage, the system also includes advanced Yacht Simulator modules for high-speed craft and specialized vessel handling. This allows diversified training scenarios, ranging from commercial shipping to leisure craft and offshore operations.

The integration of Marine Simulator technologies ensures that all subsystems—navigation, engine control, and vessel motion—operate within a unified digital environment. This enhances realism, improves training efficiency, and significantly reduces the gap between simulation and real-world maritime operations.
