Product Overview
The Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) is a maritime radio communication system proposed and implemented by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for maritime distress, safety, and routine communications. However, the high cost of equipment purchase and maintenance places considerable pressure on teaching.

To reduce the high costs and risks of student practical training, Hefonix independently developed the Hefonix-GMDSS 6000 Global Maritime Distress and Safety System Simulator (GMDSS Simulator). Designed for full-scenario communication simulation and high-precision logic restoration, this product meets the training and assessment requirements for GMDSS radio operators in Sections A-I/12, Part 1, and A-IV/2 of the STCW Convention, as well as the "Outline of Training for Seafarers of the People's Republic of China" and "Code for the Assessment of Competence for Seafarers of the People's Republic of China." It can be used for both practical training and assessment of GMDSS radio operators. It offers the following highlights:
Product Highlights
It offers the following highlights:
- The simulator is web-based, allowing teachers and students to access the system via mobile phones, tablets, and computer browsers for online education and training, reducing site restrictions and improving convenience.
- Covers mainstream shipborne GMDSS equipment simulations, featuring high model accuracy and realistic operational logic. It can simulate at least the following typical equipment:
►NAVTEX navigation warning receiver;
►INMARSAT-C ship C station;
►VHF very high frequency telephone;
►INMARSAT-F ship F station;
►MF/HF medium and high frequency;
►EPIRB emergency position-indicating radio beacon;
►AIS automatic identification system;
►NBDP (narrowband telex);
►SART search and rescue RADAR transponder.

- Supports seamless integration with navigation simulators, enabling GMDSS equipment to facilitate maritime emergency search and rescue training in the event of a collision, grounding, or other dangerous situations.
- Simulates extensive communication functions for shore stations, coastal stations, and search and rescue coordination centers.
- Covers a variety of application scenarios, including competency assessment training for ship crew members (such as GMDSS equipment operation and maintenance), emergency communication rehearsals for shipping companies, and remote online training and assessment for students at maritime academies.

As the core subsystem of the ship handling simulator, the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System Simulator (GMDSS Simulator) provides crew members with full-cycle training from basic operations to emergency response through full-equipment simulation, multi-scenario linkage and precise assessment functions. It has been widely used in maritime schools, crew training institutions, etc., helping to improve ship communication safety and crew competence.
