This project, developed by the Hong Kong Wind Chaser Seamanship Association, leverages the complementary strengths of both parties and is dedicated to the development of a high-speed boat simulator to address industry pain points.
Currently, domestic simulators are primarily designed for commercial vessel training, leaving less room for educational simulators specifically designed for yachts (speed boats). The development of this high-speed boat simulator aims to create a motion model that is highly tailored to the handling of yachts (speed boats). This model is closely integrated with specialized yacht (speed boat) training courses, such as navigating around buoys and mooring to buoys. This research and development will address industry pain points and effectively address the challenges of high costs, high risks, and low repeatability in yacht (speed boat) training.
In addition to facilitating the transformation and upgrading of yacht (speed boat) training, the research and development results of this collaboration can also be applied to law enforcement scenarios such as high-speed boat anti-smuggling, deportation of illegal vessels, and border patrol. This simulation training, tailored to the specific characteristics of maritime law enforcement, will enhance law enforcement awareness and capabilities, with a wide range of applications.
About Yacht Sailing Simulator
Hefonix-Yachat 6000 is a professional simulation device developed for yacht operator training, examination, and certification. The simulator provides trainees with a safe, efficient, and immersive training environment, enabling repeated practice of yacht handling skills in risk-free scenarios, reducing training costs and improving training effectiveness.
Training:
-A 1:1 replica of the actual ship’s bridge, enabling trainees to quickly familiarize themselves with yacht bridge equipment, including the steering wheel, engine telegraph, various instruments, depth sounder, radar, and electronic charts;
-Yacht navigation and maneuvering, including route planning, ship positioning, collision avoidance, and night navigation;
-Restricted waters maneuvering training, such as turning in narrow channels and entering and leaving ports;
-Yacht anchoring training;
-Yacht mooring and buoy training;
-Yacht berthing and unmooring training;
-Yacht circling buoy training, supporting the use of buoys at varying distances;
-Maritime search and rescue training, which includes simulating man-overboard situations and conducting rescue operations.
