This engine room simulator includes a simulated engine room, a simulated centralized control room, a simulated bridge, an instructor's room, and a simulated yacht control room. It features a live operator's console, a centralized control panel, a bridge console, a large auxiliary engine piping system demonstration panel, a yacht engine room simulation system, and a ship's power plant distribution panel. The power plant system includes three diesel generator panels, a paralleling panel, a load panel, a shaft generator control panel, and an emergency panel. It can simulate over 300 faults in the ship's main engine, auxiliary engine, and power plant systems.

The use of engine room simulators has proven effective and rapid in training modern senior engine management personnel. The use of simulator training to replace a portion of a crew's seagoing experience has become a consensus in both international and domestic maritime education circles, and has received particular attention from the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

The purpose of implementing practical training on engine room simulators is to enable students to understand the management procedures and key operational points of automated ships. This allows students who enter engine room simulator training to master the operational management techniques of modern ship engine rooms and the operation of various key equipment within the engine rooms, including the operation and management of ship power systems, auxiliary engine systems, and ship automation systems.

Through repeated operations in a simulated real-world ship environment, emergency response training, and fault analysis and troubleshooting training, this meets the business technology, management level, and operational skills requirements of modern ship engine room management personnel, improves students' practical operational skills, and enhances their ability to respond to various emergencies and complex faults. This is of great significance in broadening students' adaptability to automated ships and enhancing their competitiveness in the international shipping market.
