This project includes 40 GMDSS simulator student-side software and one instructor-side software. The instructor station provides a user-friendly interface for instructors, using graphics, dialog boxes, menus, and toolbars for easy operation. This interface allows the instructor station to conveniently implement the following functions:

▷ Equipment Control Center: This includes functions such as GMDSS equipment on/off control for each trainee station, equipment fault control, equipment alarms, switch status monitoring, switching on/off according to training questions, and initializing equipment.
▷ Various Shore Station Simulation Centers: This includes communication simulation terminals for shore support units such as telephone stations, VTS centers, weather stations, RCCs, and pilot stations. These terminals are designed with location, identification codes, corresponding business process simulation, and text and voice response capabilities.

▷ Training Question Bank Distribution and Creation: This function allows the instructor to create and distribute training questions on the console according to the training syllabus, assessment syllabus, and assessment specifications. Create a corresponding training question bank, allowing for centralized or individual distribution of different questions. Each training question can be designed with the training sea area, location, operational equipment status, and question stem.
▷ Practice Setup: In addition to initializing the student station based on the practical training questions described above, the console can also centrally configure the student's practice sea area, equipment type, and status. A list of standard maritime terminology, both voice and text, is provided, allowing for manual control or response to the student station's practice scenarios and communication requests.

▷ Voice and Text Response System: To minimize instructor workload and ensure effective student training based on actual ship conditions, a voice and text recognition system has been designed. This system automatically responds to student calls to shore support units, including both voice and text calls, and ultimately generates equipment response commands, ultimately controlling the student station's GMDSS equipment for voice, sound, and text display.

About Global Maritime Distress And Safety System Simulator
GMDSS is a global communications network primarily used for global maritime distress, emergency, safety, and routine communications. For students in maritime academies, proficiency in GMDSS communications is a fundamental skill. The Web-GMDSS simulator, developed based on real-world workplace practices and the specific needs of student training, is comprehensive, user-friendly, and suitable for practical equipment evaluation. Performance indicators include a realistic interface, comprehensive equipment simulation, and detailed communication emulation.
The simulator consists of a teacher station and a student station, capable of meticulously simulating the operation of ground and satellite communication equipment, operating logic identical to that of real equipment. Unlike traditional simulators, the GMDSS simulator is a web-based simulator developed for mobile devices such as web browsers or smartphones. Teachers and students can access the student station or teacher station directly through the web, enabling rapid setup of a simulation environment for practical training or training, while offering excellent portability.

Through research and development, a GMDSS simulator system with complete functions, friendly interaction and compliance with equipment practical operation evaluation has been established. It has the characteristics of complete equipment simulation, high model precision and realistic communication simulation. It has been launched on the market and can meet the training needs of crew members to master GMDSS communications. It can also objectively, realistically and effectively evaluate the trainees' knowledge and skill levels.
